CEP Vision & South Vedder Evolution
The City and CEPCO have successfully transformed the entire South Vedder Neighbourhood over the last 20 years into one of the best communities in the entire Fraser Valley. UFV is pleased to have been a part of this transformation and continues to support growth of the area. We look forward to playing our part in the next 20 years at CEP.
Original Objectives of the Canada Education Park
- Create a Complete Community: innovative, compact and efficient community of uses with emphasis on development of a strong university campus identity,
- Minimize Impacts of Redevelopment: provide appropriate built forms and maximize environmental sensitivity,
- Retain and Celebrate the Military Legacy,
- Revitalize the regional economy by generating millions of dollars in economic activity in both its construction and operational phases,
- Create jobs,
- Enhance Canada’s role as a leader in global education partnerships, and
- Enhance the quality of life in the community by ensuring that the environmental integrity of the former CFB lands is respected.
